Had the Hibiscus because I've never tried that before, and was pleasantly surprised,a bit sweet. But their shrimp taco was absolutely delicious- would definitely go back for that. Only small downside is the location next to the road. Very kind and attentive staff.
The Smoked Marlin Tacos are really unique, with an amazing complex flavor that brought me back for more on my last dinner before leaving. I really had to come back because this recipe really stuck with me, and the owner said it’s his grandmother’s recipe... I believe this because I ate great food in my week here, but this is so different. I also enjoyed the other tacos I had and guacamole here, but you gotta try the Smoked Marlin (Colima).

A cute authentic taco place in playa del Carmen . Super friendly and attentive personnel & the best thing are the TACOSSSSthe meat is perfectly marinated and probably the freshest shrimp I’ve had since trying out all the tacos in PdC. Oh and you have to try the hibiscus infused water !
We searched for an authentic taco place, and we got recommended this one. It was outstanding and delicious, and the waiter was very friendly. The guacamole was the best we tasted in all Mexico. We went around 7pm and there were tables available, but if you are a big group try to make a reservation.
Listen up—Taco MX is that spot. I ordered the 6 tacos and they were straight-up mouthwatering. Fresh tortillas, perfectly seasoned meat, and that little kick of spice? Chef’s kiss. But what really took it over the top? The service. The staff were so friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to help. They made the whole experience feel like I was a regular—even though it was my second time. Will be back for that!!
My boyfriend and I visited this taco eatery after a three-hour cenote exploration. We were famished and in desperate need of good food, and this place did not disappoint. Since it was in the middle of the afternoon, the place was empty, so I cannot speak to its ambiance, but the service was cordial and fast. The star of the show, of course, was the tacos. Being vegetarians, we ordered all four of the vegetarian taco offerings on the menu, all of which were delightful. The mushroom taco, in particular, was OUTSTANDING. Flavorful, spicy, and dare I say, umami — you could really taste the earthy and unique flavor of the mushrooms, which is quite rare to find. In a strange yet wonderful way, it reminded me of home (I’m from China). It’s been two weeks since our visit, and I still think of that mushroom taco. It might have been my biggest regret of the trip that we didn’t revisit the place while in PDC, since we never had tacos that good in the rest of our time in Mexico. Safe to say this taco has made me fall in love with Mexican food, and it’s made its way into the travel food “hall of fame” for two picky eaters.
THE BEST TACOS IN PLAYA! And I’m not exaggerating, we end up eating there 3 days in row, coz there are no better tacos than this. Food - prices ration are great. Everything tastes absolutely amazing and authentic. My favorite tacos - EGGPLANT (absolutely MUST!), with Yucatan and one with pork. Actually all we tried were delicious.
